Battle for Your Child's Imagination with Katherine Ruch

Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge,”  and yet, in an age of knowledge we give very little attention to our imaginations. The world, the devil, and the marketplace, however, have many calculated designs on our imaginations, especially the imaginations of our children.  People are often plagued by a history of diseased imaginations. How do we as parents, entrusted with the privilege and responsibility of preparing our children to live as Christians, shape our children’s imaginations so that they have the resources to do so?  And how do we help them lean into their imaginations to aid in developing a rich inner life, all the virtues, and an active prayer life?

Pornography In the Age of the Internet with Rev. Brett Crull

This is an issue that affects everyone today, directly or indirectly. Just about everyone is either struggling to get free or struggling to get someone else free. Either way we are struggling, and we need help! Whether you are personally working to get free, wanting to help others, or simply wanting to understand more about internet pornography and its effect on individuals and society – anyone would benefit from this discussion. We will begin with the basics about pornography in the age of the internet, including the neuroscience of porn and its effect on human relationships and bonding. Then we will focus on how this sin can be overcome, equipping attendees from the two-fold approach of the deeper/inner healing ministry that must occur, as well as the outward and practical steps that must be taken.

Boundaries & Relationships with Alex and Tamara Cameron

What are boundaries anyway? Aren’t they just an excuse for people to be passive and not engaged? On the contrary, people with well-developed boundaries have healthier relationships and are more able to be fully and freely engaged in their lives and work than people who don’t. We will look at how boundaries enable us to take responsibility for ourselves and our actions and to say more freely and joyfully, “yes,” to God and others.

Married Sexuality with Brett and Julie Crull

It’s really important… It is a major component of every marriage; a source of incredible strength for a couple, and yet also a source of much conflict. But who is talking about sex in marriage and where is it safe to do so? We will begin with the overall purpose of sex: the dream in the heart of God inscribed not only upon the pages of Holy Scripture but upon our very bodies; the story of God that married sexuality is meant to tell. From this large-scale vision, we will descend into the realities of married sexuality at ground level with the purpose of learning how to honor God and honor each other in this loving act of mutual self-giving. We will seek to understand the differences between male and female sexuality, talk about the common conflicts that arise, and give practical counsel for how couples can grow into an ever-deepening, God-honoring sex life.

Unmarried Sexuality with Brett Crull

If you are unmarried – whether currently dating someone or not – or if you are married and responsible for teaching and discipling others, you might wonder: What is God’s plan for dating? Is the Bible’s message about sexual purity outdated? Is it even clear? What difference does it make if we choose to follow God’s way (or not) when seeking a life long companion? We now have more data than ever, and with help from the field of psychology, research in the neuroscience of sex, and the catalogue of human experience the results are in…. Turns out God knew what He was doing, and the completely counter-cultural Christian sexual ethic is, in fact, essential to having healthy dating relationships and eventually healthy marriages – even in the 21st century. Come find out why…

God's Design for Sex: Lifelong Sex Education in the Christian Home with Stan and Brenna Jones

Stan and Brenna will discuss biblical foundations as well as practical strategies and skills that can contribute to the development of the parent’s capacity to shape their children’s character. We believe parents should be the principle sex educators of their children, and that sex education in the family is less about giving biological information and more about shaping your children’s moral characters. The long-term goal is to prepare our children to become mature and godly adults who make wise decisions that are honoring to God. For more on their approach, please see www.christiansexed.com and www.godsdesignforsex.com.

Natural Family Planning with Dawn Hartsell

Our culture has aimed to suppress fertility rather than understand it. Christians like the idea of Natural Family Planning but despair that it can actually work for them. It seems too complicated and unreliable. This breakout will help you not only understand God’s design of human fertility from a scientific perspective but also learn the most up to date methods for tracking fertility.
